3. “Ultimately, the Battle of Midway was not as important as the attack on Pearl Harbor to the outcome of the Pacific War.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why?
I disagree with the statement because the battle of Midway was as important and it was an early turning point for the Allies.
please include: 6 aircraft/2 battleships
Four Japanese and three American aircraft carriers participated in the battle. The four Japanese fleet carriers—Akagi, Kaga, Sōryū and Hiryū, part of the six-carrier force that had attacked Pearl Harbor six months earlier—were sunk, as was the heavy cruiser Mikuma.
One of the biggest holes in the plan was the inflexibility of the Japanese when it came to the battlefield. So when something was late, it was a big casualty for them.
The timing of the attacks.
The operations the Japanese have done for the battle of Midway was seen as overly complex. Many arguments have come about where the Japanese went wrong.
Why didn’t the Japanese wonder why the Americans were mirroring what the tactics were on Coral sea?
American dive bombers messed them up.Americans sunk Japanese warships
