Reflection Paper on Folktales (find attached): Pointers:
1. Use a clear approach. [For example: structuralism (look for patterns), Marxism (relation of text to society), reader response, feminist thought, deconstruction (what are the gaps and fizzures in the text, what is it really about?]
2. Conduct an intertextual analysis. [For example, you can compare the texts/s in class to a photograph you saw, a film you watched or another text from another culture.]
3. Submit a paper that is well organized, focuses on details. Offer at least 4 citations. The essay would be strengthened by: 1) spending less time doing a summary, but more on elaborating on thoughts, ideas, and arguments of specific quotes/passages/texts 2) re-organizing the paper to advance a particular argument and 3)referring and comparing specific quotes/passages/texts from cited literature to demonstrate an engaged intertextual analysis. 4) incorporating to a greater degree the theoretical contributions of assigned scholars of mythology into the analysis 5) offering explicit in-text citations Please make sure to spend more time advancing a specific argument, having intertextual analysis, and offer at least 4 citations
